1. How to become a Grad IOSH?
Most of the candidates think that if they pass the Nebosh Diploma or the NCFE etc. they will automatically get the Grad IOSH. But it's not as simple as that. First, they must pay £188 to join as an Affiliate member in IOSH. Once they clear the Nebosh Diploma or NCFE, they need to attach this Certificate and fill the Category Transfer form and send it to IOSH. Once they submit the Category Transform form, the candidate will be asked to do the CPD process. (Previously IOSH was directly giving the Grad IOSH status, but nowadays they ask the candidates to do the CPD process). It's a very simple process but unfortunately most of the course providers do not have a clear idea about the CPD process. So before enrolling into the course, you must check the tutor competency. Nowadays most of the candidates are struggling to achieve the Grad IOSH, even though they clear the NCFE or the Nebosh Diploma, etc.
2. Why we need to take the UK qualification (Nebosh International Diploma or NCFE, etc.) route to achieve the Grad IOSH?
The candidates have some other options to achieve the Grad IOSH other than the UK qualifications. But unfortunately they can't get the CMIOSH easily. The CMIOSH will be a big question mark for that particular candidate and it also becomes difficult to get the trainer approval to conduct international courses like the NCFE or the Nebosh Diploma, etc.
